Il cielo può attendere

Sì, mi riccordo benissimo
che l’incontro era per oggi,
un patto fatto dalla nascita,
niente da perdere, da temere,
non vedevo l’ora per volare
di venirti a trovare là su
per chiederti tante “perchè”.
Tutto era pronto e
mancavano solo pocchi respiri,
ma poi ho sentito delle voci
arrivare dall’Europa, da Roma,
usano parole e termini nuovi
“un’altra goccia nel mare”,
dicono che a sei anni
non deve esistere mai più…
un’appuntamente in cielo!

Yes, I remember quite well
that the meeting was for today
a pact made from birth,
nothing to lose, to fear about,
I coundn’t wait to fly
to come and meet you up there
to ask you so many “why”.
All was ready and
I had only few breaths left,
but then I heard some voices
coming from Europe, from Rome
using new words and new terms
“another drop in the sea”
they say at six years
there should never be….
an appointment in the skies!
